Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct shall govern all teams that are registered with the Hudson Valley NABA. All managers, coaches and players should review and become familiar with our league's Code of Conduct.

As a participant in the Hudson Valley NABA, you agree to abide by our Code of Conduct in hopes of maintaining a family atmosphere while promoting fair play across the league.

- You will not possess or consume any alcoholic beverages or drugs at any time on the playing field, in the dugouts, bleachers, or other areas near or around the playing field, or within on hundred (100) yards of the playing field facility, including, but not limited to, the parking lots of any facility.

- You understand that you must be able to identify yourself with a driver's license or other photo ID at any officially scheduled NABA league game, or you will be ineligible to continue in the game. Any substitute for yourself will enter the game under the rules governing player ejection.

- Good sportsmanship is expected of everyone involved in the league. You represent your team, your peers and your community on and around our fields. It is up to all of us to make the game competitive and enjoyable for the other players, managers, and umpires that participate, as well as for friends, family and other spectators who come to watch. Cheating, forging stats, fighting and/or physical or verbal abuse of teams, players, umpires, or spectators, or abusive language or ridicule directed at players, umpires, or spectators or any other behavior that diminishes the quality of play will not be tolerated by the HVNABA and could result in fines, and suspensions. If your team is a repeat offender this could be grounds for removal of your team from the league.

- You agree to respect the fields that we play on by following their rules and conducting yourself in a way that represents the league appropriately. You may never attempt to move any water off of a field without permission from the league president. You may never play soft toss against any fences at our fields. You will always clean up your dugout after your game.

- Umpires are human and will make mistakes. You will accept their decision and argue any calls respectfully while refraining from using foul language and other derogatory remarks.

- Promote good sportsmanship at all times. Remember this is a game we all love. We are out to enjoy it, not to be belittled or verbally abused by anyone. We are all equal to each other.
